Iran: what to expect the next year?

With the approach of the new year Iran prepares to warn the foreign partners about reduction of export deliveries of crude petroleum. Iranian Minister of petroleum, Bidzhan Namdar Zangene, has informed about it.
Teheran reduces petroleum export according to the decision of the 122-nd Viennese conference of OPEC, on which overproduction and an overabundance of crude petroleum was marked.

The second-largest exporter of petroleum within the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) - Iran - loses the conducting positions. Its share has decreased from 24 to 12 %.

Reduction is observed not only in the ratio of shares inside the global petroleum cartel, but also the world markets of raw material.

Now 40 % of all Iranian petroleum production goes on covering of domestic needs, and by 2020 for export will be left only 10 % of Iranian crude petroleum.

Reduction of deliveries of Iranian petroleum will affect first of all the European countries, but the part of reductions will be made concerning the contracts concluded with some states of Asia, has declared Zangene.

According to the statement of a member of the parliamentary commission on energy questions of Iran, Ali Hashemi, development of the oil-and-gas industry, which brings the solid share to the profitable part of the budget, can provide further cooperation with neighboring countries - large oil exporters, in particular, with Russia and Azerbaijan.

Nowadays large-scale contracts in oil-and-gas branch between Iran and Russia are already realized. In particular, Gazprom participates in the project of arrangement of the second and third turns of gas deposit "Southern Pars". Tatneft has fulfilled the contracts on realization of geophysical researches on petroleum deposits "Ahvas" and "Ramshir". In energy sphere between Technostroiexport and the Organization of electric power industry of Iran are negotiating construction of a thermal power station "Tabas" and arrangement of coal deposit "Mazino".

Questions of preparation of the joint document on perspective cooperation for the next ten years are considered; the cooperation will be directed on interaction in fuel and energy complex of two countries.

Having touched the question of petroleum price increase of OPEC countries, the Iranian minister of petroleum Zangene has expressed an opinion, that in case of war of USA against Iraq there "a collapse of the global petroleum markets" will take place, but now it is still early to make any conclusions in this connection.

According to Zangene, authorities of OPEC are obliged to carefully analyze the situation before making any decision on changes concerning petroleum quotas.
